Guess who's back, back again, Topher's back, tell a friend. Ok, to the serious stuff. As I was driving into work this morning I began to think about my life. Well more about how much I enjoy being home. Not just being home but, being home. I arrive home from work to kids that are amazingly well behaved, food that is cooking and soon ready to eat, a tidy house, and big hugs from everyone. Most notably, I return home from work to a beautiful woman that loves me more than anyone ever has before. So back to my thinking this morning, I was reminded of Proverbs 31. So I collected some verses below that were spoken thousands of years ago but are lived out even today in Eileen. I do believe that verse 31 is, in a small way, being lived out in this very insufficient note about the "noble things" (v.29) she has done. So consider yourselves, the ones reading this, as city gates. Here is my bride written out by scripture:
10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate

Chris....thanks for taking time...often =) to honor your bride! It is a blessing to her and to those of us who check Eileen's blog to keep up with you all! Way to go!!!! Robin M
thanks chris for honoring eileen to all her friends/family! Eileen really exemplifies verse 25 and 27 to me. she is clothed with strentgh and dignity and can laugh at the days to come...SOOOOO eileen!also how she watches over the affairs of her household not eating the bread of idleness. She is always busy at home serving her family. there is hardly ever a time when we are on the phone that she is not multi-tasking by sweeping, doing dishes or picking up toys...usually all in one phone call!!!! what an example she is to me! sorry so long but girl you deserve it!
oh yeah....forgot to mention that on top of all that she does.....she does it with a CHEERFUL heart!!!
